5xLess scholarship eligibility requirements

Must be the child of an incarcerated parent or formally incarcerated parent. 

Demonstrated Financial Hardship:  Applicants must provide an explanation of the specific financial challenges faced by them and their families because of a parents’ incarceration.

Impact on Educational Pursuits:  The applicant should articulate how the increased financial burden has affected their ability to pursue higher education and their academic goals. This may include difficulties covering tuition, educational materials, or other essential expenses.

Academic Merit:  While financial need is a primary consideration, applicants must also demonstrate a strong commitment to academic excellence. This may be evidenced through academic achievements, extracurricular activities, or other relevant accomplishments.

Personal Statement:  Applicants must submit a personal statement discussing their aspirations, the importance of education in their life, and how receiving this scholarship would alleviate the financial strain on their family and support their educational journey.
